Frequently Asked Questions
For updated information please refer to our new website at http://www.nrp.org.au
1. Attendance
The preschool day runs from 8am to 3.30pm.
2. Bringing your child to preschool
It is essential to sign in and out when you arrive and depart from Byron Bay Preschool. Please bring your child into his or her room and make contact with staff on arrival and departure.
3. Collecting your child from preschool
Please be punctual. Only parents or nominated others can collect your child.
Late pickups (after 3:30pm) will attract an immediate penalty of $30 in addition to the normal fees and one dollar per minute past 3:30pm.
4. Hats
Hats must be worn at all times by children when playing outside. If your child does not have a hat, they will not be able to play outside during peak high UV times (as recommended by the Cancer Council). We suggest hats be left at preschool, and that parents or guardians apply sunscreen to their child upon arrival.
5. Dress
Preschool play can be messy. Please dress your child in clothes suitable for active play, painting, water, mud and sand. Outside play means that your child should be wearing sunsafe clothing i.e. No bare shoulders.
6. Toys and belongings
If a child brings a special toy or special object in to show the class, the item is shown and talked about briefly, and then put away safely until home time. Outside of this, toys from home are discouraged at preschool, and we are not responsible for damage or loss to these items.
7. Food
Parents are to provide their child’s morning tea and lunch at preschool. We strongly encourage healthy food and fresh drinking water rather than highly processed foods and drinks.
At Byron Bay Preschool, we also support waste reduction, so please be aware of the rubbish your child’s lunch box generates, and reduce it where possible.
